Format Guide
Three leaf formats. Three different jobs. Here is how to pick the one your product actually needs.
GL Stevia supplies three leaf formats: SteviCha™ whole-leaf stevia powder — ultra-fine, matcha-crafted, for beverages, bakery, dairy and supplements; Stevia Leaf Cut — dried leaf fragments for extraction and tea blending; and Matcha — stone-milled green tea powder for café, bakery and retail. The deciding question is simple: should the leaf dissolve into your product, or be steeped and filtered out of it?

Decision Guide
Ready-to-drink beverages, plant-based lattes, bakery, dairy and supplements — where the powder stays in the finished product and contributes sweetness plus a jade-green colour.
Glycoside extraction, ingredient processing, or tea and herbal blends where the leaf is steeped and filtered — supplied as plant material for further processing.
Café and foodservice drinks, latte bases, bakery and retail packs — stone-milled green tea powder, spring and autumn harvests, region-sourced and milled in-house.
FAQ
SteviCha™ is a finished whole-leaf powder: the leaf is blanched, sterilised and milled to an ultra-fine particle size, so it disperses into the product and carries natural sweetness. Stevia Leaf Cut is dried leaf fragments supplied as plant material for extraction, blending or further processing — where the leaf is steeped, extracted or filtered out rather than dispersed.
For a ready-to-drink beverage, SteviCha™ whole-leaf stevia powder is the format designed for it: the ultra-fine powder disperses into the liquid without gritty sediment and adds both natural sweetness and a jade-green colour. Stevia Leaf Cut is not intended for direct dispersion in beverages — it is a raw material for extraction, or for tea blending where the leaf is filtered out.
Stevia Leaf Cut is supplied as plant material for further processing. Whether dried stevia leaf can be used directly in a finished food product depends on the destination market — in the EU it is positioned as plant material for further processing rather than a finished food ingredient. Buyers should confirm the permitted use in their own market.
Matcha and SteviCha™ whole-leaf stevia powder are supplied as separate ingredients, each with its own specification sheet. Customers usually blend them in their own formulation. If you are developing a sweetened matcha drink or a retail blend, we can discuss both specifications together and provide samples of each.
